Client Spotlight - Briardene Care Home

This is the first instalment of our new Client Spotlight blog series which will focus on some of our clients who work within the health and social care industry. This year has been especially challenging for everyone but even more so for the workers and residents of care homes up and down the country, they have faced great adversity due to the on-going pandemic.  Jayco Recruitment are lucky to work with some of the best health care providers in the business and we hope to continue and grow our current client base in 2021. This week we focus on Briardene Care home in Newcastle who are part of the Mariposa care group. Jayco have worked successfully with Briardene and the wider Mariposa group since the very start and have provided employees for a number of care, support and senior roles.

Briardene Care Home has over 60 beds with both residential and nursing capabilities with specialist care for residents with dementia. During the pandemic Briardene have had to adhere to ever changing government guidelines and implement them safely. Additionally, they ensured all staff and residents felt safe throughout the whole of 2020, even though they went through two COVID outbreaks, the home is now COVID free thanks to tireless work from staff. Jayco were able to provide highly knowledgeable staff who were fully trained on the latest COVID procedures, the general manager of Briardene singled out our senior consultant Joe Black who was able to provide high quality care staff on a regular basis and even helped with providing domestic staff during the COVID outbreak to ensure all areas of the home were cleaned thoroughly to prevent any further spread of positive cases.

In terms of 2021, Briardene and the rest of the Mariposa care group will work with Public Health England in order to vaccinate all of the residents and support families of loved ones and hopefully welcome them back into the home on a more regular basis as the vaccination programme progresses.
